１５日 ロイター］ - 米金融大手シティグループが１５日発表した第２・四半期決算は純利益が４１億８０００万ドルとなり、前年同期の２９億５０００万ドルから４２％増加した。トレーディング収入が持ち直したほか、住宅価格の値上がりを背景に住宅ローン関連の損失が縮小した。
債務評価の変更に伴う押し上げ効果を省いた調整後の利益は３８億９０００万ドル（１株当たり１．２５ドル）で、前年同期の３０億８０００万ドル（同１．００ドル）から２６％増加した。
トムソン・ロイター・エスティメーツのアナリスト予想は、諸項目を除いた１株利益が１．１７ドルだった。
株価は午前の取引で一時２．６％上昇した。
決算内容について市場では、同行の経営が正常に戻りつつあることを示唆しているとの指摘が聞かれた。
債券トレーディング収入は１８％増の３３億７０００万ドル。株式トレーディング収入は６８％増の９億４２００万ドルとなった。引受・アドバイザリー関連は２１％増加した。
前年同期のトレーディング収入は、ＪＰモルガン・チェースのデリバティブ損失問題が明るみになった時期とも絡み、各社とも振るわなかった。
信用損失は純ベースで２６億１０００万ドルと、前年同期の３４億９０００万ドルから減少。住宅価格の値上がりで住宅ローン資産の評価が改善した。
シティ・ホールディングスの貸倒引当金は４億５１００万ドルと、前年同期の１２億３０００万ドルから減少した。
シティ株は年初以降、約２８％値上がりしており、銀行株の指標となるＫＢＷ指数<.BKX>の成績をやや上回っている。
コーバット最高経営責任者（ＣＥＯ）は昨年１０月の就任以降、コスト削減や収益拡大を推し進めているが、経営戦略については、同氏やオニール会長とも、世界的な新興市場の成長に特化した事業や電子商取引の拡大など、パンディット前ＣＥＯの路線を受け継ぐ格好となっている。
